Review: While I am not familiar with The Rise of the TMNT animated series, I am a fan of art books regarding popular entertainment culture movies, series, and comics, so I gave this book a try, and I am glad I did. It is an extensive 320 pages and covers the history of the show, analysis on how the looks of the turtles and the show were created with a style guide included, comic book covers, and more. The biggest section of the book is a breakdown of each episode with a synopsis, large pictures, and thumbnails highlighting the artwork.
I almost didn't read this book, given my lack of familiarity with the show, but I am glad that I took the chance on it. It was well worth my time, and I highly recommend the book to anyone interested in the show or animation.
What Works: Great artwork included, and it makes the perfect gift for anyone interested in the TMNT or animated shows. My favorite sections were the Rules & Guidelines, Turtle Tips, & Lost Episodes. It is also an extensive 320 pages!
What Doesn’t: No problems with the book!
Rating: 4 out of 5 hardshells
