Review: First off, this is a new work by Alex Ross, so for a certain segment of comic fans it is an automatic Day 1 purchase. To those fans, I say you will not be disappointed, and to other prospective readers, I say give this one a chance. Ross's artwork is as amazing as always throughout the book, and he even shows more variety in his styles than is typical in Marvel Dimensions.


An aspect that is overlooked about Ross is that he is an excellent storyteller as well. Dimensions is divided into two sections. The first is an overview of the most prominent heroes and teams in the Marvel Universe. This section is basically the version of the Marvel Handbook that I have always wanted to read. The second section is more of a story and is about the In-Verse, a dimension where the Marvel heroes are evil villains. This section is good but would have been better served if it had more pages to expand the storyline. This storyline had the potential to be massive but there just were not enough pages dedicated to it.


What Works: This is simple; the artwork by Alex Ross is phenomenal, as is to be expected.


What Doesn’t: I wish it was longer.


Final Thoughts: Highly recommended for all comic fans. Alex Ross's storytelling and artwork shine in this book!
